SRF ID and BU number are 2 crucial details which help you get a Hospital Bed in Bangalore. Please read this carefully.
SRF (Specimen Referral Form) ID is a 13 digit no.
SRF ID is given to every person who undergoes a RAT (Rapid Antigen Test) or RTPCR (Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction) Test to check if he/she is positive or negative for COVID 19.
The SRF ID comes to the registered mobile no. of the person after sample is collected and is also printed in the Test Report. SRF ID is given even before the Test Result.
If you have not received the SRF ID after RTPCR Test or RAT, please immediately ask the lab or the person who came for home collection to give it to you. SRF ID is generated for every person who undertakes the RTPCR or RAT at authorized testing centres – Government and Private.
BU(Bangalore Urban) number is a 6 digit unique number generated by BBMP.
Its generated only for patients who test positive for COVID19. The Government or private lab must upload the details of the test in ICMR portal and only then BU number is generated.
Please ensure the testing centre has uploaded your Test Report on ICMR Portal, else BU number will not be generated.
Generally BU number comes as an SMS. However, if you do not get BU number by SMS, click on this link to get your BU number – https://www.covidwar.karnataka.gov.in/service1
If you have missed your SRF ID, you can get your test result using your mobile number in the link below
What if patient is COVID Postive and no BU number ?
If you have tested -ve for COVID-19 in RTPCR or RAT but the CT scan shows you are positive and you need a bed, please read the below government order released on 28 April 2021.
Considering the increasing number of false negative reports being witnessed in both RT-PCR & RAT testing methods, it has been decided to follow a Syndromic Approach and issue Patient Numbers for hospitalisation and treatment of such cases based on the authorization of doctors. pic.twitter.com/ngXbV26DL0
