Vaccination mandatory for commercial establishments, BBMP Marshals and Officers to check for certificates and staff will be liable for penalty for violation.
As a measure to contain the transmission of virus and prevent any further surge of COVID-19 case in the city, Government of Karnataka has ordered to ensure that all the staff of commercial establishments / industries / hotels & restaurants / offices do not get infected and thereafter spread the infection to customers & public visiting such places.
Hence it would be the duty of all employers of such commercial establishments / industries / hotels & restaurants / offices to ensure regular testing of their staff. More importantly employer shall ensure 100% vaccination of their working staff either at Government / BBMP vaccination centres or at private hospitals at employer’s cost.
At least one dose of vaccination shall be complied with for employees by 31.08.2021.
All such employees shall maintain proof of their vaccination status at their workplace and shall produce the same as and when enquired.
BBMP Marshals & Health officials are hereby authorised to enter such premises during working hours to check the compliance with effect from 01.09.2021. Any violations in this regard shall be liable for penalty and also punishable under section 188 of the Indian Penal Code (45 of 1860)
