- State reports 239 new Covid cases, 5 deaths
Karnataka, on Tuesday, reported 239 new cases of Covid-19 and five deaths, taking the total number of infections to 29,88,760 and toll to 38,089.

As many as 240 persons who have recovered from Covid have tested positive for TB, reports Sunitha Rao R. As both Covid-19 and tuberculosis affect the lungs, TB testing of Covid-recovered persons and their family members began in Karnataka in August. They were all cases of pulmonary TB, the infection didn’t spread to other parts of the body and there were no deaths.
- Schools fully open in 22 States, U.T.s
Schools have reopened for Classes 1 to 12 in 22 States and Union Territories, the Education Ministry said on Tuesday, adding that 12 States and UTs have opened schools for older children. The only States where schools are still completely closed are West Bengal and Manipur.
