- India sees 12,514 fresh Covid-19 cases and 251 deaths; tally at over 34.28 million
India’s cumulative caseload of the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) is at 34,285,914 as 12,514 more people tested positive for the viral illness in the last 24 hours, the Union ministry of health and family welfare (MoHFW) said in its daily bulletin, on Monday.
- Karnataka reported 292 fresh Covid-19 cases and 11 deaths
Karnataka has reported 292 fresh cases of coronavirus and 11 deaths, taking the total number of infections to 29,88,333 and toll to 38,082, the health department said on Sunday. The day also saw 345 discharges, taking the total number of recoveries in the state so far to 29,41,578.

Zydus Cadila’s ZyCov-D is the first vaccine cleared by India’s drug regulator for inoculation of those aged 12 years and above.
- Covid-19: Child cases rose slightly this week as primary schools reopened
With schools and colleges having opened, the proportion of child Covid cases increased slightly this past week, data shows. Some 91 cases of pre-teens (0-9) were recorded in the past seven days (October 25 to 31), as opposed to 69 the week before. In addition, 318 new cases were noted among teenagers this week (10-19), compared to 293 the week before.
