COVID-19 Relief /Welfare measures taken up by the Government of Karnataka

1. Financial aid to Flower Growers – Horticulture Department
  • What is the benefit?
    Financial aid of Rs. 10,000/- per hectare to flower growers who suffered losses.
    Maximum of Rs. 10,000/- per hectare.
    Minimum of Rs 2000/- per hectare.
    Rs. 12.73 Crore allocated for around 20,000 Flower growers
    Beneficiaries are selected on the basis of Crop Survey.
    Flowers Covered: All flowers are Eligible.
  • Who Will Benefit?
    1. Farmers growing flowers registered under FRUITS Software
    2. Farmers getting Financial Assistance under PM KISAN YOJANA
    3. If not registered under FRUITS Software, Farmers can go to the
    Agriculture and Horticulture department offices and get registered.
    4. Should carry RTC and Aadhar Card.
2. Financial aid to Fruits and Vegetable Growing Farmer – Horticulture Department
  • What is the benefit?
    Financial aid of Rs. 10,000/- per hectare to Fruits and Vegetable Growing Farmers who suffered losses.
    Maximum of Rs. 10,000/- per hectare
    Minimum of Rs 2000/- per hectare
    Rs. 69.00 Crore allocated for 69,000 Fruit and vegetable growing farmers
  • Beneficiaries are selected on the basis of the Crop Survey.
    Fruits Covered: Fig Fruit, Watermelon, Musk melon, Sweet Lemon,
    Grapes with Seeds, Pineapple, Papaya.
    Vegetables Covered: Onion, Tomato, Green Chillies, Cucumber, Brinjal,
    Cauliflower, Cabbage, Lady’s Finger, Pumpkin, Ash gourd, Ridge gourd,
    Bitter gourd, Bottle gourd, Carrot, Sweet Potato, Beans, Cluster Beans,
    Capsicum, Beetroot, Drumstick, KnolKhol, Ivy gourd, Radish, Greens.
  • Who Will Benefit?
    1. Farmers growing fruits and vegetables registered under FRUITS software
    2. Farmers getting Financial Assistance under PM KISAN YOJANE
    3. If not registered under FRUITS Software, Farmers can go to the Agriculture

3. Financial Relief to Auto – Taxi – Maxi Cab Drivers –Transport Department
  • What is the benefit?
    Financial Relief of Rs. 3,000 to Auto – Taxi – Maxi Cab Drivers to support the livelihood of those who lost their daily earnings due to
    stringent guidelines to break the chain of Covid-19 2nd Wave.
    Rs. 63 Crore allocated to benefit around 2.10 lakh Auto – Taxi – Maxi Cab Drivers.
  • Who Will Benefit?
    Auto – Taxi – Maxi Cab Drivers.
    1. Possessing Driving license as on 24.04.2021
    2. Possessing Vehicle Registration Number
    3. One Driver per Vehicle.

4. Ration cardholders: Department of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer affairs
Government of India – Pradhan Mantri Gareeb Kalyana Anna Yojane
  • What is the benefit?
    Free distribution of 5KG rice for May and June to BPL and Anthyodaya Cardholders from the central government.
Government of Karnataka – Distribution of food grains
  • PHH Card
    What is the benefit?

    10 kg rice for 2 months free of cost.(May -June 2021)
  • Who will benefit?
    Ration cardholders and applicants who have applied for PHH card and awaiting the same.
  • NPHH Card
    What is the benefit?

    10 kg rice for two months at the rate of Rs. 15 per kg. (May -June 2021)
  • Who will benefit?
    Those who have applied for NPHH card and awaiting the same.
  • Distribution method:
    1. Ration can also be given in all COVID-19 infected areas or seal down areas or in rare cases after due permission from Deputy
    Commissioner ration can also be disbursed on the basis of a checklist/ manual method which can be updated on portal by
    the end of the month.
    2. Portable ration cardholders can also get rations using Aadhar OTP verification or biometric.
5. Food grains for Non Profit Organisations
  • What is the benefit?
    Non-profit organisations are eligible to avail food grains up to 10MT from
    the Food Corporation of India (FCI).
  • Who will benefit?
    1. Non-profit organisations which are operating community kitchens to provide cooked food to the vulnerable population during this
    COVID-19 situation.
    2. Amount of Rs. 22/kg for rice and Rs. 21/kg for wheat – The Amount can either be transferred through RTGS or can be deposited in the FCI bank account of the district where the food grains are supposed to be distributed.
    3. NGO should submit an application along with Registration details, amount transaction details and Adhaar card to FCI divisional
    manager.
    4. Min is 1MT and Max is 10MT.
    5. Once the amount is credited, FCI shall issue a release order using which the authorized person of the NGO can lift the stock
6. Free food at Indira Canteens – Department of Urban Development
  • What is the benefit?
    Free food for poor people and labourers in BBMP and city limits.
    Total allocation Rs 25.00 crores and around 6.00 lakh beneficiaries
7. Artists – Department of Kannada and Culture
  • What is the benefit
    Rs 3000/- for each artist who are in economic chrisis due to stringent guidelines to break the chain of Covid-19 2nd Wave.
    Application has to be submitted through Seva Sindhu Portal. Around 16,095 artists with an allocation of Rs. 4.82crores.
8.Time extension for installment repayment to small, medium and long term borrowers – Department of Co-Operation
  • What is the benefit?
    Repayment of small, medium and long-term loan availed by farmers and self-help groups from primary agricultural credit co-operative societies and land development banks has been extended till 31.7.2021.
    It is expected to benefit nearly 4.25 lakh farmers.
9. Registered Building and other Construction workers –Department of Labour
  • What is the benefit?
    One-time payment of Rs. 3000/- to each registered Building and other construction workers. Who have lost their daily earning.
  • Who will benefit?
    1. The workers registered with Karnataka Building and other
    construction Welfare Board are eligible
    2. Relief amount paid through DBT to the beneficiary Bank Account
    3. No need to apply and visit the office
10. Street Vendors – Department of Labour
  • What is the benefit?
    Rs. 2000/- to each street vendor who has suffered loss of earnings.
  • Who will benefit?
    Street vendors who have registered under Atma Nirbhar Nidhi
    Rs. 44 crore to cover 2.20 lakh street vendors.
11.Unorganized Labourers – Department of Labour
  • What is the benefit?
    Rs 2000/- each for unorganized labourers like Barbers, Dhobis, Tailors, Coolies, Rag Pickers, Potters, Klin Workers, Goldsmith, Mechanics, Black Smiths, Housemaids and cobblers who suffered loss of employment.
  • Who will benefit?
    1. Labour – defined as ‘ Unorganized Labour’ under the Unorganized Labour Social Security Act 2008, clause 2 (m)
    2. Age limit – 18-65 years.
    3. one person per one family
    4. unorganized labour possessing BPL card
    5. Submit application through Seva Sindhu Portal
    6. Relief amount paid through DBT to the Aadhar linked bank account
    of the beneficiary
    Rs. 60.89 crore allocation to cover around 3.04 lakh labours
